“I run a leadgen agency. Would this be helpful for me?”
If you run a leadgen agency, your goals and methods are different than mine. You would still find value in this, BUT… you should know I don’t run high volume campaigns (don’t need to, I’m not an SDR anymore or agency owner).
This lets me spend more time per outreach, and up the personalization per outreach. You have different KPIs, but the style and samples will likely be informative. And any smart agency owner can figure out how to adapt elements of my strategy in a way that’s viable for higher volume campaigns (or create a barbell strategy: high volume on one end, personalized VIP opportunities on the other)
“What about posting content online”
How’s that working out for you currently? If you happen to be the 1/10000 algorithm lottery winner, content can work. Especially if you post about how to get clients by posting content… and especially if your offer is helping people post content to get clients. Then, sure, maybe it works. I doubt it, but maybe. What I do know for certain is the people in my network that sent cold emails 8 years ago… are still sending cold emails today. And so am I.
“If I buy this and start sending cold emails tomorrow, how long will it take until I get results?”
I have no idea. It may be days, it may be weeks, it may be longer. Cold email is sales, and sales is a world with tons of variables. Luck matters. Intelligence matters. Timing matters. The guide shows you how to put together the highest quality cold email possible. Everything else is outside my (and your) control.
“What if I’ve never ever sent a cold email before?”
Good. My approach is probably the best way to get started, get hired, or get a few clients. It’s not about the technicalities of cold email. The fact is, most people looking for a job, or most people looking for freelance work… they don’t need hundreds of replies. They don’t need volume. They just need a few wins. That said, previous sales experience always helps, so there may be a bit of a learning curve.
“Who is this meant for?”
Anyone that wants to get any kind of result from sending a cold email. You might want to improve the quality of your job applications (hint: cold email can make a huge difference there), or find clients, or get in touch with someone to do your podcast. Cold email has tons of different uses. This guide is about how to do it as effectively as possible (based on my personal preferences, experience, and strategy using lots of personalization).
“Does this guide cover everything about cold email?”
No. What I do NOT cover in this guide:
1. Tech stacks and automation tools used to scale and simplify cold outreach and list building
2, Domain creation and warmup information to, again, send cold emails at scale.
This is for two reasons:
1. There are other people who can do that much better than me (I’ve heard Cold Email Wizard’s “Cold Email Mastery” guide is a great resource for this)
2. I don’t believe in it, it doesn’t work for me or my personality, and honestly, I think it’s impractical for most people.
“You might have been successful in the past, but how do we know this stuff still works?”
I make my living as a self-employed writer so I actively use these methods still. Most of the examples are from the last year or two. Plus, the guide is based on principles, not gimmicks. Principles are always relevant.
